Hawaii is the world's largest island chain, and is the only U.S state to be made up of islands. There are six main islands: Hawaii, Oahu, Lānaʻi, Maui, Kaua'i, and Moloka'i.

Big Island / Hawaii
This island is the biggest out of all eight, however it only houses around 13% of the state's population. It is also home to one of the world's last active volcanos - Kilauea.
Oahu
While Oahu is only the third largest island, it is home to over two-thirds ( roughly one million) of the entire state population. Oahu is also home to the state capital - Honolulu.
Lānaʻi
Lānaʻi is the smallest island out of the main six. It is home to luxury resorts with championship-level golf.
Maui
Maui is the second largest island in the chain. It is most famous for their whale watching. During the winter months, migrating wales will come to the Hawaiian waters.
Kaua'i
Kauai is the oldest island in the chain. It's also known as the "Garden Island" due to its beautiful rainforests, waterfalls, and mountains.
Moloka'i
Moloka'i is an island with an interesting history, they used the island as a leprosy colony in the 1860s. There were around 8,500 people who were diagnosed with leprosy and living on the island. In 1969 the forced quarantine was lifted and people were free to move, but most stayed.
